Girls Rock!

My daughter, Lindsay, 13, came up with this idea of creating a "Hannah Montana Bike" based on Miley Cyrus' character on the Disney show Hannah Montana.  At first it was hard to imagine a bike with this young star in mind but Lindsay had it all planned out.  She must have a really hot color, so the frame was powder coated with a deep purple sparkly metallic and the rims and guard with a hot pink metallic.  Then instead of a Baseball Bat holder a Pop Star would need a "Guitar Holder" so she could take her guitar with her to a friend's house.  After much research at Home Depot we came up with a few things from the plumbing aisle to create a cradle for the Daisy Rock Guitar Miley endorsed recently.  Lindsay thought speeds would be good in the Beverly Hills areaand in Michigan so we added a 7 speed Nexus Hub for a nice ride range.  Beautifully embroidered leather Banana Seat and Grips topped off the luxury look.  Special thanks again to Pete for help with the seat, it is truly beautiful.  Lindsay added a huge Guitar Pick in the frame opening with Miley Cyrus on one side and Hannah Montana on the other.  Using special decal paper she created the images of the two alter egos.

Lindsay's bike won First Place in Custom Muscle Bike.  She was beaming none the less!  Thanks to Bicycle Don and Debbie for putting on another awesome show for us bike people!

It just so happens that Jason Earles was at the show signing pictures for the kids.  He plays Miley's brother on the TV series.  Lindsay wheeled her bike up to be signed as well.  I have never seen her quite so excited!  Needless to say she got quite a few offers to buy the bike that day but she would not budge!  I told her we could always make another depending on the price but she wasn't buying Mom's advice.

Bikes are such a cool hobby for the whole family.

                                                                Thanks,  Denise

Dudes and Dudettes,

All the time guys and gals are asking where they can get a copy of the 900+ page Factory Schwinn shop manual. I always tell you to go to your local library for "Glenn's Complete Bicycle Manual" but, most libraries no longer have it....

Well, now I DO! 332 pages! Hundreds of pictures! All directly out of the Factory Manual!

Last printed in the mid 70's, I have obtained several copies from a used book store. They are in good to excellent condition.

Blow-up pics and how-tos on every part of a Sting-Ray. Hubs, brakes, derailleurs, freewheels...EVERYTHING!

Only $30.00 per copy! Get them while you can!
